What is behind the current rise in Quebec home prices at the end of 2020 and what can we expect in 2021?
The Real Estate Market in 2020
With property prices rising sharply across the province, brokers are encouraging sellers who were hesitant to move forward with their project because of the pandemic to do so! In the last few months, in the Eastern Townships, we have seen an increase of 53% in the number of properties sold compared to the previous year and an 11% increase in the price*.
Forecasts for 2021
2021 will be a positive year for real estate. After a significant increase in property prices, some media are announcing a slight decrease or even a stabilization of prices, but this remains difficult to predict. For our part, we believe that if the inventory of houses and interest rates remain so low, the market will hold up for several more months in this way. We back up our opinion with the number of multiple purchase offers we have on our newly listed properties.
Plus, if telecommuting becomes a more permanent option, the move away from the big cities to larger homes and green space could continue.
“What if there’s never been a better time to sell your property?”
What we are experiencing in the current real estate market, the speed of property sales and low mortgage rates are bringing in an incredible amount of new buyers. Take advantage of this exceptional market and these impressive selling conditions to sell your property.
